Falconry introduction
This is a 2 hour session aimed at people with a natural curiosity. This is a lovely hands on introduction to Falconry and Birds of prey, based around the variety of Birds we have here, You will fly various owls and hawks and get to have a large falcon whistling passed your ears at very high speeds. Our special family group rate gives an exclusive session just for yourselves.
Falconry Experience
This is a 4 1/2 hour session for those wanting a fuller introduction to Birds of Prey , the first half of the session being spent with the Owls and the Falcons here at the school, the second part will be Flying the Harris' Hawks in the incredible scenery of Dartmoor. This is now our most popular offering,
Falconry day
This is The Deluxe session aimed at people who would like a deeper insight into falconry, the birds we use, and how they work with and respond to us. You will spend the morning handling and flying owls, and learning about the powerful large falcons we have as they are put through the paces.
The afternoon will be spent getting more involved with Falcons and then going on a walk with Harris hawks (Weather permitting this will be up on Dartmoor ) and learning about this incredible social raptor and watch them flying together as a team.. (Please note we do not run the full days in July or August)
During the winter months if clients so wish we can spend the afternoon hunting either with Hawks or Falcons
An Evening with Owls
By popular demand we are reintroducing our owl sessions.
These are a wonderful hands on introduction to owls, lesrning about their special adptations for hunting, the different hunting behavior of various species.
These are great fun and will be for groups, either up to 4 or up to 10 people, and will be run during spring,summer and Autumn evenings, timed so you can , if you wish follow it up with supper at The ring of Bells in north Bovey, or the Bistro at Bovey castle, both less than 10 minutes drive away. This session is an hour long

SPECTATORS - DARTMOOR HAWKING is a school specializing in giving personal tuition and presentations to clients , it is not open to the public, and therefore does not have the facilities or staffing to cater for spectators. - if clients wish to bring a guest to share their experience , this can normally be arranged at an additional fee by Prior arrangement.
